Take Out the Trash Day

In DC they refer to Fridays as "trash day", the day that they dump all the little news tidbits from the week that they didnt get to, or werent included in any other press.

I needed a Trash Day, so its today, LOL

A Simple Plan...

So I saw on You Tube a few days ago a fantastic promo video for a photographer...very well done (if not exactly my type of thing, it was well done). Well, I decided I wanted to do one, too. You know, have a cinematographer follow me around, film me doing some sessions, do some interviews with clients, that kind of thing.

So, I happen to have met a super cool local Cinematographer and Commerical Photographer, Shaun Cloud (http://www.shauncloud.com/) and I want him to do this project with me.

Only one problem: it aint cheap. Not that I dont think its worth it, mind you, but, again, it aint cheap.

So, I came up with a very simple plan....I am asking for 3000 people to each send me one dollar. I promise I will only use it to pay for the video and I will publicly Thank each donor on this blog. I mean, its just a buck....and its for support of the Arts.....and....well, its funny, right??

So, can I have a dollar?? ;)

When I saw this happen in Baby C's session I couldnt stop laughing....I know Mom was wondering why I took the shot, but its just funny! So I started thinking of captions that would be funny...if I think of more, I'll post....if you have one, leave me a comment!

Limited Edition Mini: Angels

Robichaud Photography is proud to announce our first Limited Edition in the new Riverside Studio!

Limited Editions are held several times during the year and have a special "theme" or special product which is only available during that session. I dont offer the same Limited Edition more than once (usually), so if you see one that grabs you, you should reserve your space immediately!

The details for the Limited Editions:

1. They are mini sessions, meant to "fill in" during the year between your full sessions with me! They are 20 minutes in legth, maximum. Sometimes I get the images I need in less time, but I dont run over 20 minutes to be fair to everyone.

2. Unless it is an advertised family Limited Edition, please only plan on having your children photographed. I have planned for different sessions throughout the year, so rest assured, there will be ample opportunities for portraits with your children.

3. You must reserve a time slot and have your Limited Edition fee paid within 5 days of booking, or your slot will be released to another client. If you do not show up for your time slot, your fee will be applied to another Limited Edition of your choosing (must be used within one year or reverts to Robichaud Photography as payment for time).

4. Unless otherwise specified, all Limited Editions will be held at our Riverside studio location: 1837 NW Vivion Road in Riverside, MO. We are located in the Eastbrook Plaza, and the door is directly under the Eastbrook Plaza sign. The studio phone number is 816-260-1529.

Dangerous!

So what do you do on a rainy Saturday morning when you have an Urban Safari scheduled? read, of course. P., his cool Dad and I raced through rain-soaked streets and dodged drops to do our session rather than reschedule (I hate rescheduling!)

I got so many great shots, b/c this kid is FABULOUS! Funny, cute, spunky, I love it! I cant wait to finish up editing this session, but I had to share one...

The D. Kids...

OK, we all know I *rarely* photograph school-age kids...and even more rarely photograph *tweens*, so when Mom said she wanted a newborn session with the older ones, I was a little nervous. It isnt b/c I dont like the age...(big confession here, folks)...its b/c they think I'm a dork. Seriously...I mean, a 5 year old, I can con a 5 year old into liking me just by making body-function noises, but this age sees right through me.

So, I was doing the posey-posey sibling shots when Mom (or maybe it was baby's gassy tummy that day) made them crack up! Lucky for me I was ready, b/c I LOVE this sibling shot!! Love it! Its so real!

I am also including one of each gorgeous kid, just to prove that dorky ol' me can photograph a non-toddler...even if its just proving it to myself!

My Arms Hurt...

We had done most of J.'s Senior Portrait Safari downtown, and had a great time. But she had this last cool dress and wanted to curl her hair. So we went back to the Studio so she could change and plug in her hair stuff...

When she came out looking like a Movie Star, I knew we would have to move the couch. So, J., her sister T. (whom I photographed a couple years ago, and is GORGEOUS, too), grabbed the 200lb pink velvet vintage couch from my lobby and started hauling it across the parking lot to an adjacent field.

I snatched T's sunglasses, a W magazine from my magazne rack and shot this one...

My arms are still killing me from that day...but it was SO worth it...

Eco-Freak that I am...

A few months ago, I started using reusable totes for groceries and all of my Target needs (of which there are many, LOL). So then I started looking around for cute ones, rather than shopping at Zona Rosa with my "Hen House" bags..I bought a couple cute ones, then thought I should make my own, so I did.

Since those who know me know I am always joking "red is the new black", "grey is the new black", "40 is the new 30", etc, I figured "Green is the new Black" would be funny.

So I will be handing out my new bags, and I hope to see you around town with them! If I see you shopping with the Robichaud Tote, I will send you (email of course, I dont do paper, LOL) a Gift!

Get Your Motor Running...

Head out on the.....hmmm...playground?? Where *does* a Harley dude go when he's only 6 mths old? Well, to Robichaud Photography, of course!

Apparently this little Easy Rider's Grandpa bought this jacket for his first grandson and Mom and Dad just *had* to get a shot in it...I, of, course, thought it adorable! (yes, I had to have the bare tushie shot, its adds so much, I think)!

Newborn, Mommy and Big Brother

I had the pleasure of meeting a new family member recently. I was lucky enough to photography Mr. S. when *he* was a newborn and this time got to photograph Baby W. with Big Bro and Beautiful Mommy!

I just love the images of Mom with her boys...Congratulations, A. you are now QUEEN of the House!

New Senior Portrait Safari Site Launched

I've been hard at work revamping my High School Senior Photography site...I wanted it to reflect my attidtude towards Senior Graduation Photography: fashion-ish, model-like, edgy and FUN!

I am also ACTIVELY recruiting for Senior Models to represent my studio at their school.
